1944 Hughes & Son Produced Huson Brass & Bronze Sextant
The front of the sextant has a plaque that reads "Huson Trademark".
The instrument is manufactured by the prestigious firm H. Hughes, which has built on a 250 year history as makers of chronometers and sextants to still be regarded as a world leader in the design and manufacture of marine navigation systems.
The dial is marked with the number broad arrow and the number "38065" "Hughes * Son Ltd., London". The serial number dates it to 1944.
The sextant is not cased and there are no accessories.

The sextant has a total length of 9.5 inches (24.25cm), and a total width of 9.5 inches (24.25cm). It weighs 1.9kg.
~ Condition ~
The sextant is in an overall good condition. Some minor wear to the metal, with a large white paint stain to the front which should come off. The glass has some minor scratches but nothing that will effect performance. The mirrors are very decent. The wood is smooth with no chipping or massive wear.
