A Pair of Meteorite "Anchor" Copper Ships Lanterns - Grimsby Trawler
A fine pair of Copper ships "Anchor" lanterns by Meteorite. The anchor lantern consists of a hinged chimney, glass fresnel lens with four protective brass bars around the body. The lanterns have clear glass and oil lamp fittings.
The lanterns each have a copper tag with the name "Meteorite" and the consecutive serial numbers 64322 and 64323. The pieces are also named with maker "W.T George & Co Ltd Sherlock Street Birmingham 5.".
These lanterns have come off the ship the M.T Vanessa Ann who was sailing between 1951 and 2006.

She was built by Richards Ironworks Ltd, Lowestoft for the Rhondda Fishing Co Ltd, Grimsby in 1951. She had a gross tonnage of 168 and a length of 103.0 feet.
~ Dimensions ~
Each Lantern stands at approximately 21 inches (54cm) with a diameter of approximately 10 inches (26cm), each one weighs approximately 8.5kg.
~ Condition ~
The lanterns are in good used condition. The copper has oxidized with age as expected but the surface is overall good. The internal components and glasses all look to be fine. Neither have the internal chimney glasses and one does not have the internal metal chimney structure. Both lamps are present.
