~ HMS Guillemot Bronze Ships Boat Badge ~
A bronze badge which would have been fitted to one of the ships boats on board HMS Guillemot. The front depicts a guillemot bird stood on a beach against a blue and white waved background. The bird has a regal stance.
The metal has a silvered finish.
The rear of the piece is stamped "Guillemot". It has four mounting holes, one to each corner, and a sunken fixing point to the centre.
~ HMS Guillemot (L89/K89) ~
She was a patrol vessel of the Kingfisher class launched in 1939 and sold out of service in 1950. She participated in the Dunkirk evacuation.
The Kingfisher class was a class of 9 ships, all armed with a single 4" gun and 2x40mm Bofors and 2x20mm AA cannon. They displaced just over 500 tons and had a speed of 20 knots.

The piece measures 6.5 inches (16.5cm) tall by 6.5 inches (16.5cm) wide. It weighs 949g.
~ Condition ~
The badge is in good used condition. There is some light wear to the original paint but the image is overall fine. The metal has darkened a little with age.
