This bronze badge would have been fitted to one of the ships boats on board HMS Crusader. The front depicts a shield with an English cross of St George in red with a silver background. The image sits on a field of black.

The rear of the badge is stamped "Crusader". The piece has three mounting holes.

HMS Crusader was a Tribal class destroyer of the Royal Navy launched in 1909 and sold for scrap in 1920. During the First World War she served in the North Sea and the English Channel with the 6th Destroyer Flotilla.

~ Dimensions ~

The badge measures 5.5 inches (14cm) tall by 5 inches (13cm) wide. The piece weighs 1.04kg.

~ Condition ~

The piece is in good used condition. The paintwork is overall good and is probably original. The metal has darkened a little with age.
