Antique CRAZY QUILT 1885 A.T.B. embroidered appliqued silk velvet hand painted
This is the best crazy quilt that I have gotten the opportunity to own.
This is said to have been owned by a Litchfield Ct. family
Dated 1885 and initialed A.T.B.
This quilt includes so many embroideries, appliques, pleated fans and hand painted items. This is a treasure trove of needlework
It is mostly in good condition with a few fraying spots and break down of certain fabric and paint.
It has been backed more recently with a satin type fabric. This does not draw away from the beauty of this piece. It has in fact helped to preserve it.
