This a fabulous 1940's compact 2" diameter. The top is a plastic? with a wonderful greyhound in pot metal. The top opens to reveal a powder section with puff and strainer, a metal mirror which opens to rouge and a puff. They appear not to have been used; maybe just touched to look at. The rouge has a set of initials inscribed in the center but I cannot make it out. The bottom, which feels heavy, shows some use and again that can be from just sitting around. I do not think it is bakelite. It is very unusual and in very good condition.
