A Vintage Haitian Watercolor signed M. Emmanuel

This is an older Haitian watercolor on paper that was one of a pair that came from a collection built during the 1950's and 1960's. The previous owner purchased both pictures around 1980. The watercolor is a composite of various scenes of everyday life. It is done in muted colors and the paper appears to have very good age. It is currently mounted in a post-Modern frame with an off white finish that goes very well with the colors and style of the artwork. We currently cannot identify the artist beyond the signature. It is signed in pencil in the lower right. Whoever the artist was had a very good idea of what he or she wanted to do and executed this composite view in a very professional and accomplished way.

Condition is very good throughout except for unobtrusive time toning of the paper.

Measurements are: watercolor, 8 1/4 inches x 11 inches; frame, outer dimensions, 18 1/2 inches x 21 1/2 inches.

This handsome decorative and vintage watercolor is tastefully presented and would be appropriate for almost any modern decor.
