This is a really lovely Prussian platter by Royal Rudolstsadt, circa early 1900's. It is quite large at 13" and is painted with lush roses, beautifully articulated, in pinks and yellows and sages greens. The background has that wonderful water color pallet as seen in Limoges hand painted porcelain and the brush strokes are raised. The border is gilt and a lovely light blue and gold kind of marbled design. While this is not Limoges, neither is the price. I would love to see this covered with tiny watercress sandwiches or lindzer tortes for an afternoon tea or cocktail party. This is a platter you can actually use as opposed to sticking it in the china cabinet. While the condition is quite good with no cracks or chips, there is some wear on a few of the brushstroke ridges over time.
