Antique Sterling Mason's Guilloche Enameled Fob On Watch Chain
This wonderful old Mason's accessory is from my family. It belonged to either my great grandfather born in the 1840's or my grandfather who was born in the 1880's. There is no one here anymore to ask so I am not positive. The enamel colors of orange, teal and yellow on the guilloche background are stunning. The base metal is tested sterling. I am not sure if this was used as a medal to be hung on the lapel or a watch fob. It would make a sensational pendant, although I don't know if it is supposed to be worn in public. Mystery surrounds it. It measures 1.25" in diameter and has a nice weight of 13 grams. I have shown the front and the back which are identical. The antique watch chain is gold filled and marked in 2 places. On one end it says Bigney, the other loop an F. The really nice double chain is 12" long.
