Spectacular Victorian Silk Faille Taffeta Fabric Trim 42"
This is one of the most beautiful antique fabrics I have seen. There are 42" of very wide, 11", silk taffeta woven so that all the flowers, leaves and basket weave are heavily embossed and from my research I think this is called faille. It is is in just about pristine condition, probably never used, and would make a sensational antique doll dress skirt for a a larger doll. The color is a deep reddish brown but because there is so much texture it reads a bit redder in different lights. I have not seen another piece like this and I would think it is fairly valuable.
