While we all love and depend on daily staples of jewelry, on the fun pieces that make us smile, there are times in every woman's life where she craves elegance, sophistication, and beauty. This bracelet delivers all those qualities in spades, transforming any day into the extraordinary. Exquisite craftsmanship details every line, gracing the piece with a light, ethereal beauty punctuated by vivid flashes of natural rich red rubies. The bangle bridges two extraordinary periods of jewelry design, that of the Edwardian and the Art Deco periods. Though I believe it is more distinctly late Edwardian, a case could easily be made for early Art Deco, with its streamlined, geometric design. Either way, it is truly divine! The fine pattern on the platinum melds with the curved lines etched on gold separated only by narrow bridges, the channel between letting in more light and air, emphasizing the airy, delicate nature of the piece. Impossibly gorgeous, with the finest pedigree of metals and stones, ready to adorn the wrist of any fine lady who so desires.
Condition: Very good antique condition. The only real problem this bangle has ever had is that when I got it, it was what we in the jewelry trade call `out of round,' that is, a little out of shape. Thanks to some delicate handiwork by a jeweler, the bangle is now back in round, although if you set it down and look at it from straight above, you can see here and there some areas where that shows. But there are no, and let me be clear about this, NO dents, dings, bends, or any other problems with the metal or stones. Only other possible issue is one of the smaller rubies does have a little discoloration on the metal around the setting (see pictures). These minor flaws aren't noticeable at all when you're wearing it, but I try to describe any possible issues meticulously. The price reflects these minor flaws. Measures 2 ½" across, 8" around the outside circumference and the band itself is a fraction over a ¼" wide. Rubies are gorgeous and natural. Two large ones, which each measure 4 mm across, and two medium ones, which are 3.5mm rounds, and the center ruby (ironically the smallest) is a 3mm round. Estimated total weight of the rubies is ¾ of a carat. Marked 14kt inside the band (see pictures) and the top is platinum (acid tested). ***Please Note: The light needed to show the beauty of the metal can also make rubies look more pinkish. Maybe more than any other gemstone the exact shade or rubies is highly dependant on the type of light they are in. If you have any concerns over the color of these rubies, please don't hesitate to contact me.***
