Like a vision in a dream, a lady appears out of the mist, one hand clasping a flower, the other covering a laugh, perhaps? Such a lovely vision wrought in silver. The graceful, amorphous subject suits the Art Nouveau style perfectly, and when the pendant is turned over, a surprise is revealed: the back is as engaging as the front. Here a swallow, always a symbol of hope, swoops over the waves, dancing over and around the waves, bringing movement and life to the scene.
Condition: Very good, but the bale (the loop you stick the chain through) I had added. The loop on top did get a little crimp to it when I had the new bale added. Little scratches, which you can see in the photos and make sense, given the age and softness of silver. Otherwise I can't find anything wrong with it. Some tarnish but with this kind of piece I just feel it adds to the effect. Measures a little over 1 ¼" wide by 1 3/8 long (without bale).
