This is such a delightful little brooch, and so many charming characteristics. It features a darling Oriental figure sporting a polished warm brown stone (I believe) cabochon head with tiny features etched on and then painted with enamel. A small scalloped headpiece rests atop the head and has a small silver band and brushed gold tone. Notice the tiny mandarin collar that's done in etched silver tone! Such great details. Bands around the cuffs, pant bottoms, and belly are all done in the same intricate pattern. The body is another polished stone or art glass cabochon in a striped green color. The garments are done in wonderful brushed gold tone, with tiny little hands peeping out from the large sleeves, and small silver tone ball feet emerge from gold tone ankles. With so many fine details I thought this would be signed, but there is no maker's mark. Extremely well made, and certainly unique and precious! Unsigned.
