This large and sturdy "Queen" pattern coin silver tablespoon or place spoon was made by the Providence, Rhode Island, silver firm of Knowles, circa 1870. It is marked "COIN" and is engraved with a lovely simple script for "Alice." The spoon is 7⅜ in length and weighs 1.2 ounces (34 grams.) The double-struck threaded handle bears a lovely cluster of strawberries on the front just below the monogram. The bowl is undecorated. This is a fine and substantial antique serving piece in excellent condition.
