Antique Hotchkiss & Schreuder lobed Fiddle sugar spoon 1857 to 1864 DORA

Is there a "Dora" on your gift list? Here we offer a fine antiques American coin silver sugar spoon or shell bearing the early mark for Hotchkiss & Schreuder, produced in Syracuse from circa 1857-1864. The simple Fiddle front tipt handle is engraved "Dora" in a graceful script. The stem tapers to rounded shoulders and a plain heel, front and back. The thirteen-lobed bowl is otherwise unadorned. The back is also stamped "L.L. MASON" for the retailer and probable engraver. This sturdy and utilitarian piece weighs 0.7 ounce (20 grams) and measures 6⅜ in length. It is in excellent condition.
