1931 Gouda Pottery Covered Dish Signed, Stamped, and Dated

Beautiful Art Deco 10 sided covered dish in Gouda Matte finish style. Perfect shape with artist signature and date extremely legible. Cream color inside, with lovely floral pattern in black, green, yellow, blue, turquoise and brown on top cover. The bowl is solid brown with a cream top edge, lined in green and light brown before the solid brown on the base. The covered bowl is 6" diameter by approximately 3" high. There are several marks on the bottom. Incised mark: 801 2; handpainted mark: 03/31 FLAMAND J.W.C. D. 207; stamped mark: MADE IN BELGIUM. Beautiful and very eye catching.

Gouda art pottery is the name given by collectors to art-nouveau and art- deco pottery made in various shops near Gouda, Arnhem and other towns in the Netherlands and Belgium. The distinctive designs and colors used by potters in the area attracted buyers from all parts of the world.

Condition is excellent. There is a rough area, pencil point size, on one of the 10 corners of the top. It appears there was an extra drop of glaze in the firing. All of the colors are brilliant.
