Redware Turks Head Mold
Redware Turks Head or Turks Turban mold, medium sized, used for cakes or puddings. The rich redware glaze is lightly sponge decorated on the scalloped edges in a deeper brown/black color. The name comes from the twisted swirl pattern in center, much like a modern day bundt pan. The maker is unknown and there are no markings to identify. The mold is 8 1/2" diameter and 3" tall. There are 3 very tiny flakes ont the outside top edge of the mold, totally unnoticeable unless you are looking for them. There is no damage on the center post of the mold. There is very little apparent glaze wear, however, there is some minor crazing on the inside of the mold. No cracks or chips. Great addition to your primitives collection.
