Expertly crafted by Stokes and Ireland of Chester 1896, this beautiful pincushion is in minty condition. The blue velvet pillow is firm no tears of marks, the leather backing is clean and in excellent shape. The sterling frame is exceptional. It features delicate fluting and repousse all the way the way around. A full set of British hallmarks are visible on the bottom with a maker mark for Stokes and Ireland (founded in 1880) the British Lion passant and a date mark for 1896. It would make a beautiful gift for someone who enjoys sewing and sewing collectibles or a fabulous addition to any antique or silver collection. The frame was lightly hand polished to reveal the impeccable sterling and handsome detail.
