Heavy, gorgeous, round, lidded box, expertly crafted of 950 sterling by Toyokoki of Japan c. 1930. This stunning piece features magnificent engraved cherry blossoms throughout. The engraved images are enhanced by lovely brite-cut work that reflects light more brilliantly than photos convey. A dainty fan and sash grace the upper lid. Superb decorative borders give it a polished and stately appearance. It weighs over 170 grams which is very heavy for a box this size, 5" in diameter. The lid fits perfectly. Nothing is out of round. It is clearly marked with the Toyokoki hallmark and "Silver 950" on the bottom. It would look perfect on a desk, dresser or cabinet. A rare find that would make a fabulous addition to any silver collection. It has been lightly hand polished to reveal the refined artistic details and the immaculate condition of the beautiful solid silver.
