This BIG, fantastic solid sterling silver tea ball features thick repousse done in an exceptional floral and foliate motif. It's awesome. The inside is light vermeil which is more gold in person than the photo would indicate. It is clearly marked sterling on the inside rim and there is no hallmark to indicate who the maker was. PURE ART. I can find no other like it. The elaborate repousse florals are consistent with infusers of the late 19th century. I have seen repousse infusers newer and less decorative than this sell for over $300 so it is a steal at $200. It has an ample diameter of 1 5/8" and weighs 30 grams of solid silver. This is the kind of piece worthy of someone who collects tea infusers. It would be a prize in your collection.
