Victorian Gorham Rosette Sterling Pea Strainer Spoon Sugar Sifter 1868 Starr & Marcus

Today I am offering a Gorham sterling silver pea strainer/spoon in the "Rosette" pattern. It measures 6.25 inches long and weighs 1.34 ozt. It is monogrammed "EM" with what appears to be an outlined fish. It is clearly marked with Gorham's lion and anchor. Also it is marked with "PAT 68 STERLING STARR & MARCUS". It will make a great addition to your serving items and look elegant on any table.

After looking in a few books, I am not sure if this is a pea strainer or a sugar sifter. I have seen the medallion pattern with this style bowl advertised as a sifter. It will work for both. Any information would be great!
