14kt Jade/Scarab Beetle Dangle Earrings

The scarab beetle dates back to Ancient Egypt. These beetles were a religious symbol--a sacred status. They symbolized rebirth and renewal and wearing it brought protection and luck to the wearer. Green scarabs symbolized new life.

We have had these little scarab beetles for many years and are not sure what the material is that they are carved from since many have been carved from clay. We are leaning more towards that, but again are not 100% sure.

While the stone is emerald green in hue, there are small brown markings that look like chips--please note, we acquired the stones with these small chips.

Scarabs are set around a bezel setting to maximize the detailing of them.

Earrings have a French wire closure and a genuine jade bead connecting it to the lower half.

Earrings measure 1 1/4 inches in length.

Jade measures 5mm and scarab beetle 10 x 11mm. Stamped 14kt on wire.

Thank you.
