Antique Staffordshire Earthenware Serpent Handle Floral Sprigged 6″ Jug

For your consideration, an Antique Staffordshire Earthenware Serpent Handled Floral Sprigged decorated Jug, c. 1840-1855, unmarked. Sometimes referred to as Drabware. Perhaps attributed to John Ridgway & Co., Hanley, Staffordshire. The applied floral design is in a polychrome enamel of bright colors on a soft gray ground. The handle is in the form of a coiled serpent, the mouth biting the upper rim. A petal shaped footing.

Measuring 6″ high X 5 1/2″ from handle to spout.
