Georges Briard (born Jascha Brojdo) was an award winning designer of mid century dishware and glassware. An interesting man who emigrated from Poland to Chicago in 1937 . After attending the Art Institute of Chicago, he joined the military serving on General Patton's staff as a Russian interpreter. Upon completion of his military service he moved to NYC, where he worked under Max Wille. An artist, as well as a designer - Briard painted under his given name and sold commercially under George Briard, becoming wildly popular from the 1950's through the 1970's....quite the man!
Glasses measure 6.25" high and 3" in diameter, holding 16oz.
