Vintage Shelley Daffodil Time Bone China Teacup & Saucer Set.
Shelley was founded in 1860 (Staffordshire, England) by the Wileman family. The Wileman family had already established themselves in the pottery business and purchased this second facility for the purpose of manufacturing fine china. Joseph Shelley joined the family 2 years later, adding his name to the quality china that they would begin to produce. They employed various artists over the years to create their amazing designs. Shelley sold their operations in 1966 to Allied Potteries.
This particular beauty was produced between 1945 - 1966. I've seen this cup without quite the amount foliage/tree detail that's present in this one. The daffodil floral design circles around the saucer & cup. The addition of the trees, is probably what strikes me the most, with that design continuing into the cup.
A delicate beauty in every way!
Shelley mark dates this piece from 1945 to 1966
