Vintage Bordalo Pinheiro Portugal Yellow Ceramic Cabbage Chip and Dip Serving Tray

A very unique mid century serving piece. The colors are vibrant and the design details are truly stunning. Each serving compartment measures 6" in diameter with a 1.5" depth...the center bowl measures 4" in diameter and 2.5" in depth. The entire piece measures 14.75" in diameter. The deep bowls and design make it the perfect serving piece...the options are endless!

Marked with the impressed Bordalo Pinheiro frog stamp (versus the more common printed stamp), 1532/A, Made in Portugal and the remnants of the original Made in Portugal paper stamp.

A dark brown crack line shows on the top and bottom of the inside corner of one "bowl", however it is smooth to the touch hasn't effected the dish in any way...it is in otherwise perfect condition. Due to this flaw, I will happily extend my usual guarantee to one year after purchase of item. Should this flaw progress, a complete refund would be issued. Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro was an artist with a sense of humor...his caricatures and cartoons made him wildly popular in the late 1800's. His love of sculpture (a talent at which he also excelled) prompted him to open his ceramics factory in Caldas da Rhaina in 1885. The company is still in existence today.
