1940's Sango Porcelain Floral Teapot and Sugar Bowl - Occupied Japan

A beautiful, floral design teapot and covered sugar bowl from Sango China.

The design of this pot and the accompanying sugar bowl, are a little larger than the norm. Gorgeous gold leaf design trim on the handles and dainty florals in blue, pink and sage green with a two-tone cream and white background.

These pieces are in very good condition. There is one (1mm) nick to the glaze just below the base of the teapot finial - see pic #4 at left and some minimal scuffing to the bases.

Teapot measures 8" tall and 9 1/2" handle to spout (4 cup capacity). Sugar bowl measures 5 1/2" tall and 6" wide.

Marks are Sango China Made in Occupied Japan Dating these pieces from 1945 to 1952.

Thank you so much for stopping by and as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
