Vintage 1970's Georges Briard Anemone Floral Mug Set

Vintage 1970's Georges Briard Anemone Floral Mug Set.

Set of 6

Georges Briard (born Jascha Brojdo) was an award winning designer of mid century dishware and glassware. An interesting man who emigrated from Poland to Chicago in 1937 . After attending the Art Institute of Chicago, he joined the military serving on General Patton's staff as a Russian interpreter. Upon completion of his military service he moved to NYC, where he worked under Max Wille. An artist, as well as a designer - Briard painted under his given name and sold commercially under George Briard, becoming wildly popular from the 1950's through the 1970's....quite the man:)

Mugs measure 4" high and 3" in diameter, holding 11 ounces. Excellent condition (one mug has minimal scraping to the top rim - see pic from top at right and double click for close up view - this is a barely visible flaw) Signed Georges Briard

Thank you so much for stopping by and as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
