Unusual 10k Yellow Gold Catholic University NCSSS Shoe Charm
The one side of the shoe is marked JW Shoemaker and C-37, which is believed to mean Class of 1937. The other side is marked NCSSS and the tongue on the shoe has a small red enameled "C" on it.
NCSSS stands for National Catholic School of Social Service which was founded in 1918 to train women for diocesan social service programs. In 1923 it merged with The Catholic University of of America and began to teach social work to priests, laymen, and religious. The enameled "C" on the shoe stands for the C in the Catholic University.
The charm looks to have a hollow inside as well and the entire piece is quite detailed from the toe to the heel. The charm is quite an unusual and pretty piece. It weighs 3.4 grams total.
