1899 Edison Portland Cement Stock Certificate signed by Thomas Edison

1899 Edison Portland Cement Temporary Stock Certificate (serial #3) issued to and signed by Thomas Edison. Classic umbrella signature of Thomas A Edison on back of this certificate # 3 for 10,000 shares. Thomas Edison was America's most prolific inventor. In addition to his well-known inventions of the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb, Edison spent considerable effort in industrial processes, including iron ore processing, electrical generation equipment, and cement manufacturing. His greatest mistake was in promoting DC electrical distribution rather than AC. This historic scripophily document is in VF+ condition. Signature is lightly pen cancelled.

Purchasing Notes: Payment by check or PayPal. You can opt out of insurance, which I generally recommend. Ruby Lane strongly encourages insurance. However, this may not make sense on scripophily shipments (which are not exactly breakable). My experience in mailing thousands of packages is that less than one out of 500 packages does not arrive in good condition. Still, Insurance is recommended on orders over $100. On multiple certificate orders Ruby Lane does not compute the insurance charge correctly. I will correct overpayments, but it is best to get accurate order amount before paying. Do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions.
