Vintage stoneware pottery salt glaze (saltglaze) beer tankard shape mug or could be used as a JUMBO coffee mug features a hand-painted heart on the front, with light blue paint under a satin finish glaze. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or other damage to note.
The body of this vintage stoneware mug is a tan color with brown flecks, light blue paint trim along the lip which was also used to paint the heart on the front, giving this vintage stoneware pottery mug a Pennsylvania Dutch look. The back of this stoneware mug is plain. Very sturdy applied handle, large and comfortable. This mug is very similar to another mug we have listed, the Vintage Stoneware Pottery Salt Glaze Beer Mug Tankard DUCK. The two stoneware mugs together would make a nice "Mr. & Mrs." set!
This vintage stoneware pottery salt glaze beer mug tankard measures 6" tall, 3-1/4" diameter at the mug lip, 5" from the outside edge of the handle to the outside edge of the mug, weighs 1 pound 3.9 ounces and is signed by the pottery artist on the bottom with "WHEELER" and the date "86".
