Gorgeous antique quadruple silverplate tea set with repousse by Forbes Silver Company! Teapot, covered sugar bowl, creamer pitcher and waste bowl set. Original high polished silver finish with heavy 2" repousse and beading along the tops and ornate feathery leaf handles.
The antique quadruple silverplate teapot has an ornate tea spout with a double leaf design along the top, and a flower, cartouche (not monogrammed) on the base of the spout. The ornate handle also has a heavy feathered leaf motif and spur. The repousse design along the neck is thickly applied and has a decorative beaded trim along the top edge. The body of this antique silver teapot has a high-polished silver finish. Flower finial on the lid. The inside of this silver tea pot is exceptionally clean. No dings, dents or dimples noted. There are two areas of silverplate loss on the top of the lid to this silver teapot from applied tape that had been left for years. (See photos) A small amount of silverplate wear is noted along the top of the teapot spout and along the top of the handle. No scratches noted in the silver finish and only two tiny blemishes in the silver are noted.. This Forbes silver plate teapot measures 7.34" tall, 9.5" between the tip of the spout and the end of the handle, is approximately 5.5" in diameter and weighs 1 pound 6.7 ounces.
The matching antique quadruple silverplate covered sugar bowl with two handles contains the same design elements as the teapot, with the rich repousse design and beading and two applied ornate handles and a flower finial. The exterior finish of this sugar bowl is in a high-polished silver finish. No dings, dents, or other damage, no silverplate wear or loss noted. This antique silver plate sugar bowl measures 5.75" tall, 6.5" between the handles, is approximately 4.25 in diameter and weighs 13.1 ounces. Exceptionally clean on the inside.
The matching antique quadruple silverplate creamer pitcher repeats the same design elements as the rest of this antique Forbes silver tea set with the thick repousse and beaded trim, ornate handle and high-polished silver finish. The interior is also exceptionally clean. This silver creamer pitcher does have the following blemishes to note: There is silverplate wear to the handle and along the backside of the creamer body (including the repousse) and to two areas on the rim from what looks like a spill of an acidic liquid. (See photos) There are no dings, dents, dimples or other silverplate wear or loss to note, and no scratches to the silverplate finish. This silver creamer pitcher measures 3.25" tall, 5.5" between the creamer spout and the tip of the handle, is approximately 3.5" in diameter and weighs 7.5 ounces.
The matching antique quadruple silverplate waste bowl, or slop pot, with two handles contains the same design elements as the rest of this set, with the thick and ornate repousse design, high polished silver finish and two applied ornate handles. The exterior finish of this waste bowl is in a high-polished silver finish and the interior shows only minimal use. No dings, dents or dimples to not. Blemishes to note: the top of the handles show minimal silverplate wear, together with a few minor spots of wear along the top edge, and just a few minor surface blemishes to the silver finish on the body. No scratches in the silver finish are noted. This antique quadruple silverplate waste pot measures 6" between the handles, stands 3.5" tall, is approximately 3.5" in diameter and weighs 8.9 ounces.
