Meakin Bowl & Cover Antique Porcelain

Lovely two-piece footed serving dish of early Meakin. This white transferware is decorated with delicate light blue cabbage roses. Both cover and base, as well as the handles, are embellished with gold hand-painted accents. The handles are ornately raised and scrolled; the lid handle has been repaired, so priced accordingly. There are no other issues, chips, cracks, nips, discoloration or crazing. There is a small factory clay spot in the bowl bottom (see photo) consistent with a piece of this style and age. The back crown insignia is marked J&G Meakin - Hanley England Semi-Porcelain and a boxed "CINTRA" (probably the craftsman).

MEASUREMENTS: 11 inches (full width w/handles); 6 and one-half x 9 inches (inside bowl dimensions); 5 and one-half inches tall (including cover and one-half inch high foot on bowl)
