Ridgway "Oriental" Blue Transferware Serving Bowl
This Ridgway bowl is in the Oriental pattern and measures 8 3/8 inches long by 6 5/8 inches across. It is made of blue transferware and has gold around the rim. The center of the design is a oriental man with a camel, a lady in a kimono and various buildings and trees and florals. The sides are cartouches of scenes and floral. The outer sides are decorated with a band of the same scenes. The mark on the back is actually a early 1800's mark with the edition of England, so that dates this piece to the 1890's or so. There is also an impressed S over 25 and a blue 9. There is no damage to this piece what so ever. It really is quite a striking little bowl believed to be for serving. Thanks for looking!
