An especially wonderful example from Norah Wellings, master doll maker, is this large American Indian Chief who stands twenty-one conches tall overall. Details include a velvet mask face with molded and painted features, and a black yarn wig. He wears colorful Indian garb in felt, with applied felt decoration, complete with a dramatic head dress. A tag sewn to the bottom of the left foot reads "Made in England by Norah Wellings". In good condition, overall, due to scattered moth issues, (especially upon the doll's left thigh). In the photo shown below, which is dated Christmas, 1934, the Indian is sitting in the chair on the right.
