Pair of Early 20th Century Off White Ceramic Lion Bookends

A pair of stately ceramic bookends in the shape of a lion with an off white glaze. The glaze has a nice aged crackle and a feeling of patina. The lions have a majestic outstretched pose with plants and a palm tree in front of them.

The bookends are signed by Ed Lefebyre. (Might be Ed Lefebare)

Each bookend measures 6" tall x 6" long x 3 ½" wide and weighs nearly 2 lbs.

Condition The condition is excellent except for one chip on the end of the base opposite the sculpture's name and another very tiny chip on one of the lion's ears on one bookend. The other bookend has a tiny chip under the tail on a plant leaf. All chips are extremely difficult to see because of the similarity in color between the glaze and the ceramic underneath.

A very stylish pair of bookends that will look lovely in a library or any book case.
