Pair of Canton Chinese export porcelain saucers 18th/19th century with a lake scene

Matching pair of Chinese export saucers from the 18th- 19th century with a hand-painted lake scene design in a deep underglaze cobalt blue. The central medallions show birds flying abridge, rocks, trees, clouds, a lake, house and courtyard in a Cantonese style. The outer rim has a toothed border design and there is an incised rice design below the border design. There is another ring of dark blue below the rice pattern showing Buddhist symbols. The footring is unglazed. The base is glazed and shows rings of the hand-thrown potters wheel. Good glaze control and well painted. The porcelain has a slight bluish ting.

No markings or labels.

MEASUREMENTS: each plate is 6 1/8" diameter and 7/8" tall.

CONDITION: Excellent condition. A couple of very tiny rim chips. No cracks. Very slight unnoticeable scratches to central panels. This shows age.

An incredible hand-painted and hand-thrown matching pair of Canton saucers.
