Set of 7 matching Japanese 19th century porcelain Imari bowls

Set of seven matching 5 5/8" diameter colorful hand thrown and painted Japanese Imari porcelain bowls with a central peach medallion surrounded by six panels containing alternating floral designs.

Underglaze cobalt blue is used as the ringed central peach medallion, as well as the scrolled design around the outer sides and rings on the foot and base. Overglaze enamels in rich red, green, and pale blue in the panels. Gilt is used on designs and the bowl lip. The bowls are lobed with a scalloped edge. The footring is glazed and so is most of the base.

Please note these bowls are identical to the set of three bowls in our shop (Item Por-469). Also, if you are interested, we'd be willing to to make this a set of five for $250

MEASUREMENTS: Each bowl is 5 5/8" diameter and 1 5/8" tall

CONDITION: The bowls are perfect. No cracks or chips. Only slight gilt wear, mainly to the rims. They are still bright, colorful and unworn.

A beautiful rich colorful fabric design on hand thrown porcelain. The Japanese artful captured intricate designs on these bowls. They are small jewels.
