Large Chinese porcelain pale celadon incised handled vase circa 1900
This stunning 11 ½" tall very pale celadon porcelain vase has a rectangular mouth and a body which rounds out below the neck then tapers to a rectangular foot. The body of the vase is incised with key fret pattern at the mouth and plantain leaves on the neck. On the front and back bats circle a double happiness symbol. Clouds are in a band at the neck base and clouds on the sides.
The vase has two lobed handles on the neck with no decoration and a rounded lip. The glaze is thick and lustrous. The color is a very pale celadon color. The footring is not glazed. The base is glazed.
There is an impressed mark with the one word CHINA. It dates from the Chinese Republic period.
