Japanese porcelain shallow bowl with pale blue stencil design c 1900

This delicate shallow blue and white bowl has a thick glaze that is beautifully smooth to the touch. The pinwheel design swirls off of a central medallion with a pretty peony design. Each of the swirling arms has a unique fabric design, and between each of these arms is a unique and nicely drawn flower. The designs are applied stencils. The lip edge is painted with a blue line and there are other blue lines both inside and outside the base. The footring is not glazed and there is no porcelain mark.

The bowl measures 6 ¼" diameter and 1" tall. It dates from the late 19th century to very early 20th.

Condition: The bowl has no chips or cracks. There is a small kiln burn on the inside.

This is a beautiful pale blue porcelain with a very intricate and delightful design.
