Six Chinese Roof Tiles, Dragon & Lotus, Han Dynasty

Six (6) Chinese Roof Tiles, Dragon & Lotus, Han Dynasty.

Chinese Dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, hurricane, and floods. The Dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck. With this, the Emperor of China usually used the Dragon as a symbol of his imperial power and strength.

To the Chinese the Lotus symbolizes ultimate purity and perfection because it rises untainted and beautiful from the mud. Every part of the plant, from roots to petals can be put to good use and has medicinal properties. As such, the plant as a whole, conveys deep significance. Esoterically, it represents inward emptying and outward splendor and this conveys the true nature of reality according to the Buddhist philosophy.

Three (3) Dragon Roof Tiles & three (3) Lotus Roof Tiles. Excellent overall condition, one Dragon tile has an ancient repair. Each Tile measures 6" (15 cm) Wide, by 1" (2.5 cm) Thick.
