Chinese Ming Dynasty Iron Buddha, 1368- 1644

An authentic Ming Dynasty Iron Buddha beautifully sculpted, draped in a cloak of infinite Buddhas, hands in a praying position. Reign mark on the back.

Excellent condition, no damage or repairs. All Ming iron Buddhas have some minor surface rust. Usually museums leave this on the Buddha as it is naturally formed, as is the patina. It can be removed but a specialist should do this to avoid removal of the patina from the surface.

Displays beautifully, level base, does not tip or wobble. Measures 16" (40 cm) Tall, by 11" (28 cm) Wide, by 8" (20 cm) Deep and weighs approximately 50 Lbs. or 23 kilos.
