Chinese Travel or Scholar Box, Qing Dynasty

Beautiful black lacquer Travel Box, or Scholar's Box, complete with all of the original trays in the original carrier. With mother-of-pearl-inlay on all four sections and on the fitted trays, depicting various garden scenes and auspicious emblems.

Generally excellent condition with the exception of some missing lacquer on the foot or base of the carrier which is typical since this is the area that is subjected to the most wear.

Measures 18 1/2" (47cm)Long, by 11 1/4" (28.5cm) Wide, by 18 7/8" (48cm) Tall.
