This pair of reversed painting silhouettes is in exceptional condition. From the 1940's they depict a colonial couple walking in the park and at the ocean. The woman is in a flowing dress with a fitted jacket and parasol. The man is dressed in a day jacket with striped pants, a tie and a top hat. It seems to me that he is carrying a walking stick. In one scene they are walking on a rock path with trees and birds flying overhead. In the other, the gentleman is pointing at something in the ocean. They are on a cliff with rocks and grass.
The silhouettes measure approximately 8" x 6" each. The reversed paintings are on convex glass and the backgrounds are paper scenes. The backs are cardboard with round metal hangers. The frames are metal with gold tone and copper tone stripes. There are a few minor spots on the frames, which I am only mentioning for accuracy. They do not at all detract from these silhouettes. These are the usual frames you will see on this type of silhouette.
This set would make a wonderful addition to your silhouette collection.
