This vintage black planter (or vase) was made by the highly collectible, McCoy Pottery.
Painted and fired in a black matte or light eggshell glaze, it measures 6" high and approx. 6.5" wide, across its rotund center.
This planter is without chips, cracks or stains, and is signed (impressed) on the base, "McCoy USA 520."
Although there isn't major wear on this piece, there are 3 small blebs on one side (created during the firing process), and they can be seen in the pics. (Keeping in mind that close-up pics exaggerate condition issues and they do not appear as noticeable with the naked eye.)
There is also a white scuff (very light) from probably rubbing against a wall. It might come off with a little elbow grease, but we will leave that decision to the buyer. Overall minor issues, and being mentioned solely for accuracy.
This is a wonderful orb planter, very mid-20th century modern. It pleasantly reminds us of a small witch's cauldron.
