1960/70s Leslie Joy ~ Marabou Feather Batwing Caftan/Dress
This scrumptious, ivory-colored caftan has huge, batwing (or draped) sleeves trimmed in fluffy, cream-colored, marabou feathers.
Created in the 1960/70s, it was made by Leslie Joy (St. James) and the interior label is intact.
This garment measures a stunning 57" long, with the front bodice trimmed in sparkly sequins, beads and topped with a pearl, for extra sizzle.
Most likely made of polyester or a polyester blend, this dress measures 35" across the bust (designed to hang loosely) and the waist and hips are free. It will fit almost any woman's size and has a long, rear zipper for easy wear.
This garment is in beautiful condition, without noted stains or holes. A small area of the feather trim (on the right arm) could benefit from a little thread reinforcement, and the maker's label also shows thread unravel.
Rest assured, these issues are minor and this is a gorgeous vintage piece. It has not been dry cleaned and will ship in as-found condition.
The perfect hostess gown for your Christmas festivities...or simply for lounging at home as the Queen of your domain. Please enjoy.
