White cotton shirting has a tiny figure woven into its fabric in this antique chemise for a large 28-30" doll. The off-shouldered under bodice is shirred around the top and bound with a narrow band, matching the shirring at bottom front and back which is finished with a 7/8" wide flat waistband that closes in the back of the 17" waist. Short, puffed sleeves end with a 5/8" deep arm band that is 6-1/2" in circumference. The Victorian chemise closes in back with two tiny pearl buttons, and one tiny white cone-shaped porcelain button at top. A couple of old mends do not detract from the lovely little under garment. I have washed the chemise, but did not bleach it, so it is clean and ready for your dolly to wear. It is being modeled by my favorite 1860's china doll (which is not for sale), but is too large for her tiny waist. It does show how the neckline fits from the top of neckline band to the bottom waist band (5-3/4"). This is a particularly fine example of dolls' early underclothing. Thank you for looking.
