This hand made Oriental panel is ornately embroidered with silk threads in satin, chain, and various other fancy stitches on a 10-3/8" x 34" long Royal Purple silk panel that is trimmed in a 5/8" wide black silk frame. It is backed what what appears to be a gray linen. On each corner of the bottom of the long panel are a 5" long black tassel topped by a carnelian colored double glass bead. The wonderful colors in the embroidery show a couple canoeing, a blossoming tree drooping over a bridge, a flowering garden in front of a tall pagoda, a small house along a river, and more. The embroidery is in excellent condition, but the silk on which it is sewn has some abrasion, and in some spots has shattered from age. Panel is intact but should be framed to prevent further wear. I have tried to show those worn places on this beautiful piece of stitchery in the photos and price reflects this. Thank you for stopping by.
