This 14" hard plastic Winnie Walker Madame Alexander doll wears her tagged original dress, and the hat that she wore when I bought her in the 1960s. Hat is not tagged, so I don't know whether she originally came with it when bought new. The doll itself is in pristine condition with her sleep eyes and perfect lashes, flawless complexion with a hint of blush, and glued on wig in its original set. When she walks, her head turns from side to side, and her walking mechanism works beautifully. The "Alexander" mark is in relief at the back of her head, hidden under her stylish hair-do. The straw hat with faux flowers on front and attached narrow red ribbon with long streamers in the back is in excellent condition. The one exception to her fine condition is the tagged red dress with matching bloomer type panties, which has a faint flaw on the front skirt and a bit of wear and slight fading on the front bodice(both shown in close up photos), not very noticeable unless seen in bright light or up very close. Still, for a doll 60 years old with that beautiful Cissy face, she really is a great example of the precursor of the fabulous fashion doll who was introduced a couple of years later in 1955 by Madame Alexander. Winnie is a great piece of history for that fact alone! Thank you for visiting.
