1911 My Golden School Days Memory Book

This 93 page hard cover memory book was published by Reilly and Britton Co., Chicago, in 1911. This 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" x 11/16" album was meant for the high school student to record memories of the dances he or she attended, the sports in which he or she participated, lists of classmates, teachers, etc. The title pages describes it as "A Record Book for Happy Memories" which was compiled and arranged by Janet Madison. The table of contents has fourteen categories: My Class 9Date, Flower, Colors, Pin, Motto, Yell); My classmates (Their photographs, Autographs, and Nicknames); Class Officers; The Teachers; My Studies (Favorites and Otherwise); Sports and Athletics; Stunts, Doings, and Jokes; Spreads and Entertainments; Dances, Proms and Hops; Holidays; Kodak Snap-shots; Graduation Day; Invitations, Programs and Clippings; and Miscellaneous. There are several poems throughout the book. Slightly soiled on the outside, it is clean and unused on the inside, with the lightly textured paper age-toned. The attractive Art Nouveau design on the front cover is printed in red, dark green and metallic gold ink over marbled paper. Corners are bumped and inside first endpaper has a tiny piece missing along the edge, but the book is nice and tight and in very good condition otherwise. It makes one wonder why the person who received this book never used it. It comes wrapped in a clear Mylar cover added for protection. Thank you for looking.
